Vinyl Two-Storey Renovation
This home is a classic Edmonton area two-storey. Made solidly and with some great features, but unfortunately dressed in the dull exterior stylings of a 90s home built in Alberta.
The original vinyl siding had worn and faded over time, and the light grey corner trims did little to provide an exciting contrast. The brick columns ran straight to the soffit line and didn’t wrap to the sidewall, common for the architecture then but certainly different than the standard now.
As such, it was very exciting for us to be a part of the transformation - installing Hardie Plank and Trim, as well as cedar columns on the front deck. Along with a few other trades installing new doors, stone work, and front steps, we got to be a part of a dramatic transformation for the homeowners.
8.25” Hardie Plank in Night Gray is a stark contrast to the original vinyl, both in size and colour. The natural wood look of Hardie goes a long ways to both making this home look absolutely classic while simultaneously brand new.
Arctic White window and corner trims add visual weight to the windows, and the trim surround on of the new stone provides some extra depth to the design. Colour matched corner trims allow the other accents to really stand out.
The new cedar posts on the front porch tie-in perfectly with the siding and stone, and add a lot of flair to the front entrance.
