Vinyl Siding Renovation
New vinyl siding transforms 1960s bungalow
One simple change, and this bungalow looks brand new!
Of course, it’s never that simple. But with careful planning and quality work it can be that easy. For this renovation, we worked with the home’s existing stucco, while removing the existing siding and trim features. In some cases we remove existing stucco prior to installing new siding, and in other cases we leave it in place and install right overtop. There are a few considerations, but generally speaking, leaving the stucco in place is a cost-saving option… not to mention mess-saving!
Fanfold insulation was installed to match depths of the various sidings, and to add a flat and forgiving surface to install the vinyl siding over the stucco. And as an added bonus, the house will be warmer in the winter!
Next it was time to install the siding. Royal’s Shamrock vinyl siding was selected, and it looks fantastic! White corner posts are a subtle feature that adds some contrast to really make the siding colour “pop” while also tying in the beautiful white windows. Arctic White Hardie trim was installed around both doors to add some character, and new white gable vents complete the look.
