Royal Cocoa Vinyl Siding Renovation
Small house, huge upgrade
Before the project, this is exactly the kind of house that a person might just drive right past without noticing. but with new vinyl siding and manufactured stone, it makes you want to slow down and stare!
The siding is Cocoa, by Royal Building Products. Cocoa is a rich dark brown, and it pairs perfectly with any darker shade of roof shingles. The clients added HardieTrim boards in Arctic White at the windows for extra definition, and Versetta Ledgestone in the colour Plum Creek.
Here’s an interesting quirk: take a look at the front bay window. Notice that none of the three windows in the bay is centered - they are all installed closer to one corner post than the other. Installing trim boards on all four sides would have made the windows look even more unbalanced, which would be a huge problem for the focal point of the front of the home! Our solution was to install full HardieTrim boards at the header and sill of the windows, and surround the windows on all four sides with a white vinyl Jtrim. This gave us the white highlight we were looking for, but left us enough of the Cocoa siding to minimize the unevenness of the windows. Another small detail that makes a big difference to the final result!
Siding: Royal bevel profile - Cocoa
Trim: James Hardie Trim - Arctic White
Faux Stone: Versetta Ledgestone - Plum Creek
