Elmwood Full Exterior

Note: This house is Blue Jay’s first every siding project! Before Bjorn joined Blue Jay as an owner, he “hired” the company to come in and replace his siding. The end results were OK, but we learned a ton about project management along the way! In the end, we were thankful to have had the opportunity to make a bunch of mistakes before we started working on a stranger’s home!

Bungalow Curb Appeal

These homeowners in Elmwood wanted to change their siding to improve their curb appeal, and it's a good thing they did! The previous owners had installed new windows and vinyl siding, but the windows did not seal properly to the uneven surface of the stucco that was left underneath. To make matters worse, when we checked behind the aluminum soffits, we found that the original wood soffits were still there (with holes punched in for "ventilation") and were allowing condensation to pool onto the surface of the stucco, all out of view.

We removed the stucco, soffits, fascia, and gutters, repaired all the water damaged walls, and installed new Rich Espresso HardiePlank siding with Arctic White HardieTrim. In the front gable we installed Earth Tone Cedar siding from Vivid Coatings, and the side gables got new HardiePanel siding with 4" accent trims. New vented soffits let the roof cavity breathe, while bright white fascia and gutters give a clean finish and keep the water flowing in the right direction.
